Once connected to the G-Tech socket, the charger will automatically recognize the battery within five seconds and select the optimal charging mode.

Advantages of LiPo Batteries

Lithium-ion-polymer (LiPo) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) packs. The primary advantage of LiPo batteries is their exceptional capacity-to-size ratio. Despite their compact size, they maintain a high current capacity, making it possible to find a suitable pack for virtually every AEG replica. LiPo batteries do not suffer from memory effect, allowing them to be charged frequently without the need for prior discharge. In fact, frequent charging is beneficial for this type of battery.

Usage and Maintenance Guidelines

• Do not discharge a LiPo pack below 3V per cell or overcharge it above 4.2V per cell.
• LiPo packs have a low self-discharge rate, losing only about 3-5% of their energy per month when not in use.
• Monitor the pack during extended storage to prevent discharge below the permissible minimum value (3V per cell), which can lead to irreversible chemical reactions and potential damage, including ignition in extreme cases.
• An unused LiPo pack should maintain an average charge of approximately 70%.

Performance and Longevity

When used correctly, LiPo packs typically last for 500-700 cycles. A critical factor is the temperature at which LiPo packs operate. Unlike other batteries, LiPo cells perform well at low temperatures; however, they should be charged at room temperature. To maintain LiPo batteries in optimal condition, they should be balanced during charging using the service plug that most LiPo packs include. A quality LiPo charger will have a built-in balancer.
