Once connected to the G-Tech socket, the charger will automatically recognize the battery within five seconds and select the optimal charging mode.

Lithium-ion-polymer (LiPo) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) packs. The primary advantage of LiPo batteries is their exceptional capacity-to-size ratio. They are compact while maintaining a high current capacity, making them suitable for virtually any AEG replica. LiPo batteries do not suffer from memory effect, allowing for frequent charging without the need for prior discharge. In fact, frequent charging is beneficial for this type of battery.

It is crucial to avoid discharging a LiPo pack below 3V per cell and overcharging it above 4.2V per cell. Another benefit of LiPo packs is their low self-discharge rate, losing only about 3-5% of their energy per month when not in use. However, it is essential to monitor the pack, as prolonged storage can lead to discharge below the permissible minimum value (3V per cell), resulting in irreversible chemical reactions that may degrade the pack's properties or, in extreme cases, cause ignition. An unused LiPo pack should maintain an average charge of approximately 70%.

When used correctly, LiPo packs typically last for 500-700 cycles. A critical factor is the temperature at which LiPo packs operate. Unlike other batteries, LiPo cells perform well at low temperatures; however, they should be charged at room temperature. To maintain LiPo batteries in optimal condition, they should be balanced during charging using a service plug, which most LiPo packs include. A quality LiPo charger will have a built-in balancer.
